Experience

My specialty is in the tutoring and teaching of college writing. If you're looking for help with your essays for a college writing course or any other college course, I'd be happy to assist. I would also be open to working with high school writers, although I have less experience in this field. Furthermore, I could likely help students studying for the writing sections of the SAT or GRE test. Other subjects in which I could potentially be of assistance are literary studies, Spanish, logic, and the verbal sections of the SAT or GRE test. I will be turning 27 this year and now have almost a decade of experience in tutoring and teaching in a variety fields, with college writing being my primary area of experience. During my undergraduate years, from 2009 - 2013, I was a tutor in the Writing Center at RWU. Between 2012 and 2015, I did some private, self-employed tutoring in writing, English speaking, and Spanish. From 2014 - 2015, when I was earning my Master's in English at RIC, I tutored in the Office for Academic Support at Rhode Island College, where I mainly helped students with essay writing, the Praxis Core test, and logic. Since earning my M.A., I have been working as an adjunct professor. Between RWU, RIC, and Johnson & Wales University, I have taught four different courses in college writing. Additionally, I have taught a course in literature and philosophy at RWU. Currently, I teach First Year Writing 100 at RIC. The rate I have listed here is for tutoring services in college writing and based on my background in this area. However, I would be willing to negotiate a lower rate for tutoring in other areas, such as Spanish or logic. Thanks for reading, GC
